Leadership Transition Announced for the 25–26 School Year

Mrs. Christine Joyce will become the new Headmistress @ PPA starting in the 2025-2026 School Year.

As we conclude our 2025 school year and prepare for the 2025–2026 academic year, Padre Pio Academy is entering a new chapter in its leadership.

After many years of dedicated service as Headmaster, Mr. Patrick Andrews will be stepping back from his administrative role to refocus on teaching and continue contributing as a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Andrews has been a guiding force at Padre Pio Academy, helping shape the school’s Catholic identity. While he is stepping down as Headmaster, he will remain an active and vital part of our school as Dean of Discipline, continuing to teach 7th and 8th grades and offering strategic insight as a Board member.

Taking the helm as the new Headmistress is longtime PPA faculty member and Dean of Curriculum, Mrs. Christine Joyce.

Mrs. Joyce is a professional educational leader with nearly two decades of experience in curriculum, mentorship, and instructional leadership. She holds a Master of Arts in Art History from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Arts in French from Bowling Green State University, K-12 education licensure, and extensive Educational Leadership formation at Notre Dame College and Lourdes University. Mrs. Joyce is fluent in both English and French and holds advanced certifications from the Chambre de Commerce de Paris, the Institut de Touraine, and the Université de la Sorbonne. In her spare time, she serves on the Board of the Northeast Ohio Translators Association. Prior to joining the faculty at Padre Pio Academy, Mrs. Joyce held senior management positions at the Toledo Museum of Art and the Allen Memorial Art Museum. Mrs. Joyce finds great joy in teaching students both young and old and looks forward to her new role in providing academic leadership to Padre Pio Academy's outstanding corps of professional staff.

"I am very honored to step into this role,” said Mrs. Joyce. “Not only is Padre Pio Academy the premier classical academy on the West Side -- it's like a family. I look forward to continuing the mission with the same dedication and faith that have always defined our vibrant community."

Mr. Andrews shared his own thoughts on the transition: “This is a bittersweet moment for me. Leading this school has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I am grateful to continue teaching and serving in a new capacity while watching Padre Pio Academy flourish under Mrs. Joyce’s capable leadership."

We at Padre Pio Academy are excited about this transition and confident in the strength of our future under Mrs. Joyce’s guidance.

We will continue to keep families informed over the summer as more details and plans are finalized. Thank you for your continued support and prayers during this season of growth and change.
