Padre Pio Academy is a private, non-tax supported, independent school founded with the help of God’s grace by Catholics loyal to the Magisterium of the Church.  The mission of the school is to transmit the Catholic Faith to elementary school children within the context of a rigorous academic program.  The school integrates an orthodox Catholic religious formation program that includes daily prayer, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and regular celebration of the sacraments. I n imitation of our saintly patron, Padre Pio Academy is committed to a pious and sober approach to daily life.  We offer our students a classical curriculum built on the great works of Western Civilization.

Faculty are required to make a Profession of Faith and also pledge the Oath of Fidelity to the Pope and Magesterium.  They are also bound to the serious responsibility of providing Christian example to the students.  The school is committed to keeping tuition affordable with the special aim of helping large Catholic families educate their children in the Faith.  In return, all families are required to help in fundraising and volunteer efforts to sustain the school.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PADRE PIO ACADEMY

Q: Are you a homeschooling program?
A: No, Padre Pio Academy is a day school with a structured calendar and daily schedule.

Q: How can you be a religious school and not a diocesan school?
A: We are a private school founded by Catholics.  We teach a Catholic program and cultivate a distinctly Catholic environment. There are many schools around the country doing the very same thing.   A visit to www.napcis.org might be very helpful in understanding the growing phenomenon of small, independent schools founded by Catholics.  Each year more are formed.  In the Cleveland area there are several religious Montessori programs, as well as a new religious high school (the Lyceum School) and several other examples of independent schools with Catholic mission statements.

Q: Do you recognize the authority of the Pope and Bishop?
A: Absolutely.  Padre Pio Academy requires an Oath of Fidelity to the Pope and Magisterium from all Staff.  We pray daily for our Pope and Bishop.  We are loyal Catholics who belong to local diocesan parishes and who recognize the authority and office of Bishop Richard Lennon and of Pope Benedict XVI.

Q: How are you different from area parish schools?
A: Padre Pio Academy offers a different academic program from other schools in the area.  We also have a unique learning environment and a strong commitment to making education affordable for large Catholic families.  The best way to understand our school is to call the office and schedule a visit to see for yourself! We offer ’shadow’ days for prospective students, as well as opportunities to meet staff and tour classrooms. Call 216 226-4854 to set an appointment.

Q: How do you describe the religious component of your program?
A: Padre Pio Academy integrates Catholic faith into all subject areas.  We use the Faith & Life religion series by Ignatius Press.  We also teach the St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism. Bible History and a Catholic worldview permeates the other history courses.  Students are also held to high standards of personal comportment.  We are a joyful school and enjoy a loving, family environment.
